Material you can probably source from SMS Auto Fabrics.

TMI does a really nice job with seat covers for our cars. Their fabrics are not exact but decent. Or you could send fabric sourced from SMS so they can get it exact.

TMI sells upholstery kits for the 84 seats in Canyon Red...

    https://www.tmiproducts.com/articula...-1984-mustang/

You can buy from TMI directly (I think), or from one of the many vendors of Fox body parts. TMI sources it's own material, so though it will be close to the original material, there may be slight differences.

And as Tigger said, you can order material from SMS Auto Fabrics...

    https://smsautofabrics.com/

SMS's material is supposed to be original. You can call them and have them send you some samples and compare to what you currently have. You would have to have an upholstery shop make the covers, which shouldn't be too difficult for a good shop to do. It will be more expensive than the kit from TMI, but the colors should match better.

Thanks for your help guys,I will most likely go for seat covers and do the swap myself (now that I'm older I discovered this think called a budget) ,I am just trying to clean the car up to sell so I can finish my 79. I bought this one https://www.foxbodymustangs.org/comm...y-wheels.1052/
and want to sell the 84 and drive this one,I also bought an '82 GT and am swapping the hood, nose and hatch over to the 79.

Sounds like a plan. If you get the upholstery kit from TMI, post some pictures after you get the seats done so we can see how they turned out.

FYI, the center section of the TMI kit is different than the GT350 center section. Our seats have 2 different materials.

    The center section material.

Address and info might be out dated but you see the difference.

The seats in the GT350 were the same seats as in other Mustangs (at least the sports performance seats). But I was just looking closer at TMI's upholstery kit, and it does look like the center section cloth is the same as the outer section cloth, which isn't correct. I wonder if that's just a mis-print on their site. or is that the actual way the kit comes? I tried looking at other sites that sell the upholstery kits and can't really tell. I e-mailed TMI and asked them, so I'll report back if they reply.

To my knowledge, there is no GT350 specific upholstery kit available.

So it's only buy the material and have them done?I'll probably just look for some red seats to put in and include the originals in the sale, there is no way I could get my money back if I redid them just to sell the car.

No, there is no specific GT 350 seat material. It was the same material used in any Mustang with a Canyon Red interior with the sports performance seats.

I received an e-mail from Michael at TMI. He said it does appear that the upholstery kit is all one material. Why they would do that is odd. Not really making an effort to be correct, but I guess that's the way with a lot of aftermarket suppliers.

I called SMS. They do have the correct material for the seats. She said it's $139 per yard, and a yard is about 36" X 60". I think two yards of the solid and one yard of the striped material would be enough for the front seats. If you're interested in getting the material from them, I would definitely call them first and have them send you samples of both materials.

I remember someone saying that if you have the material, TMI will sew you up a set for the seats (for a charge of course). I'm not 100% sure of this, but it might be worth an e-mail to TMI to see if they will do this.

Or..... maybe have a local upholsterer quote doing the work.

TMI will sew up the seat covers for you at no additional charge using your materials. Its a special order and you have to set it up with them via phone. The cost will be the same as their normal kit price, so not bad, but no discount for supplying the materials yourself. You might be able to get it done locally for less, but it just depends. Good Luck!
