    Default Finally ....

    I have been picking away at ET this season....

    Friday night I finally broke into the 9’s ....

    2nd pass of the night it went 1.35 60’, 6.30@109 and finally 9.93@135
    3rd pass it backed it up with 1.35 60’, 6.33@108.5 and 9.97@134.5

    Was back at it Saturday night for a Pro tree heads up stick race. Ended up runner up to a bad ass Supra that owned us all, but bumped into another new best in the semi finals ...

    1.36 60’, 6.29@110, and into the “80’s” with 9.87@137

    Those are some bad-ass passes there my friend! Bad-ass for ANY car, not just a 4 banger turbo car! Those 60 foot times put you way out on quite a few cars. Should run it 1/8 mile and let people try to catch you right? Lol!

    Huge props to your driving ability. There are very few people who can row gears and consistently pull times. 98% of the time the cars are let down by the driver repeatedly followed by lame excuses and automatic transmissions.

    Thanks Mike, it’s been a long road. Likely longer than it should of been. In my defense, I did get distracted by 10.50 index racing for a while. As that’s startedto dry up, I’ve needed to find a 6.50 tune up. That was close enough to the 9’s to really make an effort this spring to check that box off the to do list. Back to racing on indexes

    Thanks, I get down on my junk a lot. Takes some time to step back and watch what a lot of people are really running and start to feel good about it again. There is a lot of fast stuff out there these days, and the benchmark for what is “fast” seems to keep moving, but I’m happy enough to say I’ve got a 9 second car now, and that’s enough for me.

    I would stare the person asking right in the eye and tell them you have a 9 second 4 banger stick car and watch them get all uncomfortable about it.

    9 second ETs in any car is a major accomplishment. 9 seconds in a 4 cyl stick car is in a completely different league both for the mechanics of the drivetrain and the skill of the driver.

    Running multiple passes like that within 0.04 of one another is legendary prostock stuff there. Love watching those guys and gals consistently cut 0.00 or 0.01-0.03 lights for a hole shot win too.

    The factor of talent is what keeps the sport of dragracing a fan favorite.

    Anyway — well done and thanks for sharing. Huge props from those who realize what it takes to do that.

    I won’t be doing it any time soon even with the advantage of a 353 going in under the hood on my 85 build.

    Thanks, that really means a lot. In these days of 1000 hp everything, it's easy to get lost.

    My dilemma now is, what next ... I've done most everything I thought it could do, What do you do when you run out of goals, lol.

    One of the upsides of a turbo 4 ... I turn the boost controller off and drive on the streets against the gate spring.

    We have a 93 convertible (also 2,3 powered) that is the ice cream car

    Consider my budget, and then look at what needs doing to do it with less gear. That youve done this with a stick is awesome. Do you want to do it with an auto? Do you like the 4R70 and can someone make a stall high enough for lpw 9s...and nitrous! Im guessing an adaptor is legal, and that you still want to be able to "Street It".

    Gotta say, dressed up to the Nines, that the kinda Capri I just love. Well done!

    That's pretty sweet. Any write up on your combo? I'm interested in building a 2.3t drag car.
