    Default Convertible Pillar Post

I have an 84 LX convertible. I've had issues with water intrusion past the A pillar posts at the very bottom because the Daniel Carpenter repro's are about an inch too short.

In this pic of my car you can see a black smudge at the bottom where the original pillar post weather strip reached to beyond the one I got from LMR.

I also notice there's a 3rd hole below the pillar post channel. That 3rd hole is on both sides. What I'm wondering is can my 84 utilize the A pillar channel and weather strip from 87-93? like whats in this LMR vid?

The vids that CJ and LMR show to demonstrate replacing the pillar post weather-strip both show an 87 or up car. Both those vids show the pillar post runs to the bottom of the windshield. I think Ford realized leakage was a problem and corrected it on the 87. Are the windshield length dimensions the same or close enough that I could pick up a pair of A pillar channels from an 87-93 and install them on my

When I get home from work today I can take a look at my 88 and measure the length.

I cant find a used pair of 87-93 pillar post channels but There's used 83-86 one's on ebay. I was thinking of buying a pair of them, and cutting the bottoms off and using them to extend mine to enable me to slip a pair of 87-93 pillar weather striping into the A pillars reaching all the way down.

Any thoughts on this? I'd be spending around 100 bucks for a pair of the pillar post channels only to chop them up not knowing if its gonna work or not.
