    Default Intake clean

I have a intake (upper and lower) from an exploder and both have some heavy oily film inside the ports. What is the best way to clean them? soak them in??

Soak them in some purple power cleaner, spray them with engine degreaser also.

I do a lot of work on carburetors and I soak them in combustion cleaner overnight. Might take a lot tho. Any rubber gaskets or O rings should be removed before doing so as is the cleaner causes rubber to expand. Parts come out as new.

I always use lacquer thinner to clean oil and sludge type residue. I have an old plastic tote that I cut to size and a couple bottle bushes and tooth brushes that I use while wearing kitchen gloves and eye pro with good ventilation. Works very fast.
