T-5 and 8.8 Synthetic or Not?
T-5 and 8.8 Synthetic or Not?
The only GM thing I ever use . . . GM Syncromesh transmission fluid in my T5's.
I run Synthetic in virtually everything . . . Except my Super Duty rear axle that has an Eaton Detroit Truetrac that uses regular gear oil ONLY!

I am running 75/140 syn on my 8.8 why not? I know engine hate syn if never ran on it before. Great for making oil leaks. My corolla I tryed syn at 120k and it leaked like on old detroit switched back to regular oil and now at 420k still does not leak a drop of oil. Never again syn in any engine I ever own.
Engines do not hate synthetic oil. It is highly detergent/solvent compared to dino oil and simply cleans away the junk plugging the leaks you really had and didn't know about. Because of that it might be better to stay dino on a high mileage motor, but otherwise, well, no, not necessarily.
Plus he is just talking the transmission.
