83 t bird rear end

I was swapping the rear end on an 83 t bird from 7.5 to 8.8 and found this inside the 7.5 case. It appears to be a Yukon or Eaton type carrier but can’t find anything that looks like it exactly, unless it’s an older model. It was from a 5.0 aod car that was owned by an elderly man before I got it. So that’s why I’m confused how or when it could of been swapped because it don’t seem factory but could be. Had 308 gears on it. Thanks

Do you happen to know the years they were used. I’m assuming it was an add on requested? I’ve been in dozens of foxbody rear ends and never seen one. Always finding something new and learning. Thanks

In Capri and Mustangs they were used through 1984 model year. Not sure about other F/L/M models.

Yup, my '86 5.0L Thunderbird Elan, that I put 3.73's into, had a 7.5 Traction-Lok like that.
