    Default T top window regulators

Last fall I bought a roof cut off a 1983 mustang to get the t-top conversion started on my Capri. My Capri has a funky 1980s hack sunroof hole so I had to do something. The Mustang doors were rusty junk... Like worse then I'd ever seen. As such I got the glass only. Now I'm getting ready for the conversion and I need guidance on if the regulator is infact unique to t-top cars?

I have never heard of the regulators being different. Just the glass.

Door glass is different, all else is the same.

It has been rumored some have used vert glass, but that has not been 100% confirmed.

Just get vert glass out of your heads.
Wrong shape of the leading edge ,because the pillars were laid back .
    Regulators are the same .
Hope you retrieved the T Top specific door braces .
    Vert braces will work .

Ttop glass will be tough to find but it should be doable

One crazy idea — Unless I’m missing a detail as I look at the pictures I would venture to guess door glass from a GM G body 2 door (montecarlo, cutlass, Grand Prix, regal) or possibly some years of Firebire/Transam could be carefully cut down to size and repurposed. Maybe maybe not I guess

Most likely the curvature of the glass would be wrong and then you have the mounting holes, etc. The other issue is tempered glass is very hard to cut and trim, much less drill any holes. Definitely not my first choice.

Good Used T-top glass is out there, you just have to search a bit. I picked up a driver side glass for the 81 BM I snagged down here in TX late last year for $100 shipped. Heck of a deal IMHO. Good Luck!

The glass-over issue probably started with me mentioning the regulators are the same but glass is different!

Ok here's a question, trying not to hijack the thread but i think it's applicable here. Are there differences in the window motors themselves? Vert vs Ttop vs hardtop?
