Hard to believe but this Capri just turned 40 years old and I've owned it for 30 years now!!
And just found a bunch more pictures but still searching around for the build pics...around here somewhere
From Mission Raceway in British Columbia
Track Trial event at Reno-Fernely Raceway...damn that track was fun!!

Damn I wish I could have afforded a set of Fikse Wheels back then
The final time...had to rebuild after a lifter failure so decided to upgrade maincaps to 4 bolt

The difference comes down to cubic inches and cylinder head port size...I have fully ported Canfield head with 2.05 intake and 331 cu.in. Originally I thought I was going to have to at minimum gasket match and maybe port match but I was wrong...The Super Victor is huge!! So if you are running stock or mild heads and 302cu.in then choose the smaller kit.. (normally I'd include part #s but typing on phone is not my favorite). That being said, I'm really happy with the multi port sequential fuel injection and Edelbrock has excellent tech support...online and via phone. Only issue I have had is that if I don't start the engine regularly then I have to re sync the ecm...in order to view datastream

A few more pics from the good ole days...and when cameras really weren't all that great...at least the cheap ones.
Bremerton Raceway...getting it all crossed up in front of the 700 plus horsepower Mystic Cobra
with the black cobra r's...had I known these original M-179 wheels would be impossible to find down the road I might have taken better care of them...or at least bought a third set!!
Doesn't show in the photos but I went through the hassle of seam welding every seam forward of the rear bulkhead after I installed the Griggs in car subframe kit...hours and hours and beers and hours of welding...
got tired of burning up brake pads with the 2300k brake kit so, being a Griggs dealer at the time...I spent more money!!
Installing fixed mount calipers on the rear turned out to be quite the headache...The things they don't tell you after you just spent over $4,000 bucks on brakes!!
you are teasing me with all that porn lol

Nice video of your Sunday drive.
Was going to post a bunch of new photos documenting all the current work I've been doing on the Capri but all the files are too big to upload and I don't feel like resizing them all. So I resized two that I edited in cartoon mode which look rather cool

Quick phone vid of the recent round of work on the Merc!
Decided to get a Marti report on the Capri, kinda cool...and it has stayed on the west coast its entire life!
Very cool build indeed, and you deserve a big thumbs up for the magazine write up. Thanks for sharing, for me it never gets old to see a nicely put together Mercury.
'86 Capri 5.0, black with charcoal interior, 5 spd, fully restored, mildly modded.
'86 Capri 5.0, white with black interior, C4, rotisserie restored, heavily modded.
Thought these got deleted but here area few editing room floor pics from the magazine article...
And the G-Force T-5 is coming out and will be up for sale as soon as I get my brand spanking new Tremec TKX transmission installed so anyone in the greater Seattle area that needs an upgrade then hit me up...2.95 1st .63 5th plus a .80 5th for track and Pro 5.0 shifter
Freshly rebuilt with new carbon fiber blocker rings
Put 100 miles on the transmission, the .63 did what I wanted it to as far as cruising rpms with the 3.73 rear end gears but the new Tremec TKX has a .68 5th that will handle 7,500rpm upshifts....
The .80 I took out would handle that but I need more overdrive for long drives. The T-5 .63 synchro is just too small
