Been a long while since I've posted on this site...had to re register...but just wanted to give a heads up that my Capri is featured in the May 2019 issue of Muscle Mercurys and Fast Capris...or is it Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords...and it's obviously not an 85'...not sure why that always gets messed up. So check out the print issue or check out the link to the article online.

    Thanks,

    Scott

Well...can't leave anything alone for long so the problematic Powejection III fuel injection system has been replaced with the new Edelbrock Pro-Flo 4 multi port fuel injection system with Super Victor intake and 1000cfm throttle body. Night and day diffference in drivability. It was worth every hundred spent. Though I had to have the intake and fuel railes Cerakoted black. It was easy to install and fired up on the first attempt. Driving in stop and go traffic and on warm summer days is now no problem and hot restarts are consitently good. Yay!! Those in the Pacific Northwest will be seeing a lot more of this Capri now that it drives so damn good!

I have been thinking of going with the Pro-Flo kit on a 408W in the future, and haven't found a bad review yet. Glad to see that you're having good luck with it. Are you planning to dyno the car with the new set-up? I'm curious if the power lost will come back with the new EFI setup.

I have an appointment to dyno on August 10th. It'll be on a Dynapak dyno so interesting to compare to the other dynos I've been on and with different combinations. When I had the race carb on this engine it made 393rwhp on a Mustang Dyno, same dyno with the Powerjection it made 377rwhp but had better drivability though it definitely suffered at the top end on the roadcourse. The ProFlo throttle body is 1000cfm and the Super Victor is way bigger than the fully ported Victor Jr that I removed. Hell my Canfield Stage 1+ ported heads (205 in. 54cc) look tiny compared to the runners on the new intake so it would definitely work good on a 408 with a good head.

If I get the power back then great but the main goal was to gain drivability and repeatability! The PJ III was all over the place, some days good other days just plain evil. I'll post results when I get em.

A quick update and a minor setback. The new ProFLo 4 injection set up was working great so I booked a dyno appointment with Brad's Custom Auto in Seattle last month. Unfortunatley on the drive there the wide band 02 sensor failed. Though Edelbrock tech guy told me I had a different issue other than a failed 02 I decided to replace it anyway...which worked. Only complaint is that the android tablet is really hard to see when it's sunny out! Car is a blast to drive though Nissan leaf owners seem to hate it...now the rainy season season is here and not sure I'll be able to get it back in for some dyno tuning but if schedules align then I'll get it done otherwise it'll be next spring.

Forgot I had these photos...being stuck at home like everyone else these days I decided to re-reorganize my garage and stumbled upon these photos from the 2006 Super Ford magazine photo shoot. These didn't make the cut but I had these blown up but I never framed em.
