Default Ends of the heater core

So of course I have to use an aluminum replacement heater core for my SVO. I got to looking at it closer and realized the ends are just crimped onto the fine.
Has anyone run a bead of rtv over the crimps just as an extra measure to avoid leaks??

Did not notice any crimps on the aluminum one I put in my 92. It was. Spectra Premium, 2 year warranty. When I looked a few months later I could no long find the Premium and the warranty was now 1 year.

I found an NOS Motorcraft unit a few weeks ago. Inside the box, it seemed to a newer Ford number. Will have to check that out. I still need to replace the heater core in the 84 GT and 89 LX. Still looking for 1 more or maybe get my old one recored.
