Holley Sniper installed and running. Retrosound stereo wired and installed, keeping the premium sound system amp switch functionality. More wires cleaned up and tucked away. Starting to put the rest of interior back in.

One observation - you may want to watch out for rear suspension bind. I can’t tell what type of bushings those control arms have by the pictures. Just be sure to read up or post a discussion on it.
I don’t want to see you add a bunch of bind that makes snapsteer even more dangerous than stock, or tear up torque boxes, etc
Maximim Motorsports has a lot to say about the topic.
My experience is don’t use a rear sway bar unless you have a panhard bar. Ideally you’ll run 4 cyl LX springs in back or something similar — that’s what the 93 Cobra street car used.
The factory V8 86-93 front sway bar is way too much for the spring rates used. The TRX / 93 Cobra street car is a much better match with oe style struts and shocks
I wish someone would have told me years ago on this stuff so I’m sharing. I nearly got myself killed in my 86GT with stock suspension...... drove it every day in all types of weather for 18 years in Nebraska. It almost ended really badly multiple times! Mix of driving and blind stupid luck with emphasis on the luck....
This is Erratic50's personal experience and advice. Although he and I agree on many things we disagree about this in general. I do agree that removing the rear sway bar will soften up the suspension on the average Fox due to removing some possible binding of the suspension due to the inherent design. How much that "improves" the handling will be subjective IMHO without back to back testing with controlled conditions. The improvement will also vary depending on the type of surface, turns, speeds, etc. In daily driving there might be an overall "seat of the pants" improvement in ride quality and predictability again as much Subjective as brake "feel". Does that mean the car actually handles "better" ? If the driver is more confident and feels the car is more predictable, then that can lead to driver being able to push the car to the limits more than if they don't feel confident and comfortable. A high skill driver with the same car IMHO will be able to show that the rear sway bar does increase the handling or improve the handling when fully pushed to the limit in a controlled environment.
With all that said, suspensions can be tuned to the driver's preference and different handling with the use of different size sway bars both front and rear. Ford did essentially the same thing with the 93 Cobra by using the earlier 1 1/8" front sway bar instead of the standard GT 1 5/16" front bar. Many feel that helped balance out the Cobra better than the GT in many ways and helped with the overall ride and handling. Of course that disregards the different struts/shocks, etc. that also affect the handling of said vehicle.
Personally I would change the front bar to a 1 1/8" while keeping the rear sway bar before I remove the rear bar entirely. I would also consider possibly going to a smaller rear bar before removing completely. You choices just like Erratic50's may vary.

So it's been a while since I posted, but I've gotten some work done in the meantime. Interior is all back together except for the dash and trim around the windshield. I'm having the windshield replaced tomorrow since it has a small crack, and to get rid of the etched in Pony - 1.
Also, after getting the seats back in, I took it for a drive, and was amazed at the difference all the changes made, but I ran into some fuel system issues with the EFI system. Long story short I was losing fuel pressure, and my dad and I traced it back to the feed from the tank. So we spent a couple of hours dropped the tank and made sure all the connections were tight, and also removed the sock from the bottom of the sending unit since that was redundant with the pre-pump inline filter. Between tightening one of the fittings and taking off the sock that corrected the fuel pressure loss issue, and the car is running great.

And back on the ground.
beautiful interior!
My mention on the rear sway bar is assuming mainly street use. If you're in a more controlled environment than pot-hole city USA then you might get better results with a sway bar.
But if you do leave the rear swaybar in you will almost for certain want to soften up the front swaybar and force the rear to do its job or you'll have a car that is notorious for spinning out and going in circles, etc ..... the factory foxbody we all know and love....
For what its worth I can get to any portion of a corner after entry and go to WOT and as long as my entry speeds were manageable and the corner is not more than 90 degrees I'll never see ANY over-steer out of my car and its not for lack of V8 performance.
that's why I like that setup on the street.

I put the same radio in mine. I love it. With that radio installed it almost looks identical to my 82. Beautiful car. Keep up the pictures. These threads keeps my motivation up.

What seats are those? They look great. Did I miss info about them?
Of all the stuff you have done, getting rid of all the etching, lettering, and emblems probably has the most impact at a glance. The current wheels are a huge improvement as well. To each his own, but just because something's available doesn't mean it should be applied. My $.02.

So the front seats were replaced at some point before I got the car. Best I can tell they are out of a Firebird from the mid to late 80s. You have a good eye most people don't notice. In person the red is slightly off from the rest of the interior. I plan on going back to some period correct mustang seats in the future.

Back together after a successful winter of refreshes and mods. Going to enjoy her for the next few months before I look at doing some more.
New Holley system seems great. Working on tuning the return to idle , which seems to be the only place its giving me some minor issues.

So finally decided to do something about the mismatched interior seats. After looking locally for a while it was apparent that finding some 1983 front seats was not going to happen. However, I was able to source a full seat set out of a 1988 Mustang for ~$100. I purchased some TMI seat covers, ACC rear carpet, and some tools/items necessary to reupholster. A few Youtube videos later I was on my way to a new seat of matching interior seats.
Nice Work! Looks Great!

The rear seat conversion was the hardest part, but I think it all turned out nice.
Wowee Zowee! Looks GREAT! Good work. I love this car. Just curious, I know you said the seats are 1988 but what color upholstery did you order? The 1983 red or the 1988 Scarlet red? Just curious. Either way I think it looks terrific! How much money and hours of labor do you estimate you have in all of it?
