Thread: Louder Exhaust

    Default Louder Exhaust

So I’m feeling like I’d enjoy have a louder/deeper & throaty exhaust on my T-Top Coupe. Here’s my current engine/exhaust setup:
    5.0L
    F-303 Cam
    GT-40 Tubular Intake
    GT-40 Aluminum Heads
    BBK Long Tube Headers (1&3/4”)
    2&1/2” H-Pipe
    40 Series 2-Chamber Flowmasters
    2&1/2” Flowmasters Tips
I absolutely love the way the new Coyote 5.0L sound and I realize that if I want that, I’d have to do a swap, but I was hoping that I could come with something that was louder/deeper & throaty and that would excite me!
    Any advice would be great!

That's funny. I have pretty much the same exhaust on my car minus the long tubes, and my goal is to quiet mine down.

    Larger tips might help,

Some of it is perception, lots of people think my mustang is loud but I don’t think it is,
My dad thinks his cobra is quiet but he needs to turn up his hearing aids

Get rid of the chambered mufflers and H-Pipe and go something more modern and an X-Pipe if you're looking for the newer sound. Vibrant makes a good sounding muffler.

either straight pipe it (no muffler) or run a muffler like the flowmaster outlaw which is a straight through design

Shorten the tail pipes a bit. Makes a huge difference
