A message originally posted at the Third Generation Web site said that there were 374 Light Regatta Blue Metallic ragtops produced in 1986.

This number included both LXs and GTs.

I have an '86 GT, 5-speed in this colour.

Based on the figure of 374 all told, I was attempting to figure out how many cars like mine might have been made in '86.

My rough math came to less than 100 (about 95).

Could anyone with more knowledge or insight than I have about Mustangs (owned my car only a year and am still learning), review this figure and provide some feedback?

Here's how I arrived at less than a hundred.

Take 374. Divide in two for LXs and GTs and you have 187 GTs produced that year in that colour.

Divide this 187 by 2 for automatics vs. stick shifts and you get c. 94.

Therefore, if this math has any validity at all, there were less than a hundred 5-speed Light Regatta Blue Metallic GT ragtops made in '86.
