Default Bought my birth-year Mustang and were both turning 40 this year. Go 1979!

Hi guys and gals. I fondly remember driving Fox bodies through my teen years and early 20’s. Glad to have one again.

It’s 5.0L manual Ghia hatchback. I think it’s been in So Cal it’s whole life (like me). Body is good, original paint is in terrible shape, interior seems great. I’d love to be able to keep it all original but I think the paint is too far gone. Thinking of recreating the paint scheme from a Pace Car but not doing a full replica with the decals and everything. I love the character of the car so I don’t want to change too much. Probably just clean up the engine bay, do an AC delete, etc.

Looking forward to checking out the site and learning from you guys.

Welcome to the Pride! I'm sure you have big plans for this, looks like it has some real potential. Interestingly, I noticed the LH fender looks to have been repainted, and the plates are the later-issue '1G' (approx. 1983). Possibly the car was from out of state, or the original owners were running vanity plates and decided to keep them. Regardless, great car! Won't take much to get this looking great again.

    Welcome to FEP!

Cool 79 Mustang! Personally I love Black and Lime Green so I say stay with the color scheme or go even wilder!

Wait the PC theme, but using Lime Green and Silver stripes over the Black body! Hmm maybe I will save that for my PC!
