    Default 1983 GLX Or GT?

Hello everyone, I purchased a 1983 Mustang 5.0 convertible with a 4 speed manual. The car had been painted so it doesnt have and GLX tag in back or GT stickers. I believe it's a GLX with a 5.0 but just want to make sure. There is no hood scoop on the car. No pwer windows or locks.

Akso, I always see these cars with 5 speed, so is a 4 speed rare?

    Thanks!

    Welcom to FEP!

Post your VIN, door tag, buck tag here in the decoding section and Foxchassis can help you sort it out.

The 4 speed was available early in the 1983 production and then the 5 speed was introduced during the 1983 model year. I believe you could also choose the 4 speed and get credit during the model year also.

My buddy's early production 1983 Capri RS has the 5.0/4 spd combo also.
