The "budget" theme is kinda going out the window so I decided on a full chromoly UPR front suspension kit.

That brings back memories of my T'loader swap. Get the sawsall ready. lol

You dug into the wiring yet? I'd suggest getting a Helm manual for the donor car, and your 82, can usually find them on ebay.

I'm going to keep it carbureted and just eliminate the non essential wiring. I'll look into one of those manuals. Thank you.

Lol, yeah, I guess I need to update this thread a little bit. So now the plans are back to EFI, but this time I bought a Holley Terminator X setup, Vortech S-trim, and a Tremec TKO 600. I'm actually working on it right now believe it or not. It's not much farther than the last pictures, but I'll update the progress in a few days. But like STL79 says, check back next week for a different direction. Oh, it'll probably be a stock HO cam for now?

Hmm, do you still have the toploader? I'm building a manual shifted 2.3t and trying to decide if I want to run a toploader or my t5Z. I think it would like 2.95 1st gear vs. 2.78, but my goal is eventually for around 500hp, and this is a brand new T5Z with less than 1000 miles on it, so I don't want to just go tear it up.

Me too. When I wasn't looking, I could find deals on TKOs, 3550, and T56. Now that I am looking, no deals.

Getting ready to paint the engine bay and install the tubular suspension. I picked up a set of 94-95 spindles and 99-04 dual piston calipers. I'm considering a tubular lower radiator support. The oem lower core support is tweaked a little and now is the time to address it.

Might as well get a tubular bumper support.

I've thought about the whole tubular front end from the strut towers forward, but those things aren't cheap.

Taking advantage of some vacation time and 70 degree temperatures. I painted the Lakewood 90/10's silver. Red just seemed to stick out like a sore thumb.

Yes it does! I had the red Lakewoods and the old UPR Blue coil over sleeves on my car which is all silver with black trim. I have black struts now, but I still need to do somethinf with the sleeves.

Now I've got to figure out what to do with the rear suspension parts. The baseline upper kit is red and the team z lowers are black. I think I'm just going to paint them silver too so they match the front stuff.

Right now it's just a P head explorer engine with a stock HO roller cam. I'd like to find a set of aluminum heads for a decent price, but it'll probably be the P heads for now.

Hopefully it's at the track by early summer.

I'm going to see how far I can push the stock explorer engine with this S-Trim. I'm still considering E85 seeing that i still have to buy a fuel system. Buy once, cry once.
