Scored 94 GT front spindles, rack, brake lines, etc on Sunday. Scored a set of 05' GT 17x8 wheels today. Piecing together a 5 lug swap for a winter project. Plan on running SN-95 A-Arms and axles with Cobra brakes front and rear. Not looking forward to another Minnesota winter, my recently installed natural gas heater in my 3 car garage will make this one more liveable.

Just spent more $$ than I probably should ordering a full Saleen body kit for my 85 GT! Cervini has a sale on Fox Body parts thru today and decided I couldn't pass it up. https://www.cervinis.com/foxbody-sale.html
Also ordered the missing A/C lines and a new compressor and clutch since it's been a bit hot here lately.
Last I need to order the correct 28.2oz flywheel weight for my Spec flywheel for my 331 stroker.

Haven't taken any recently This is from several months ago.
Actually looks worse right now since the front end have been pulled off again and the engine is sitting on the floor in the garage. Did get my new freeze plug kit yesterday, my new A/C compressor showed up today and my new flywheel should be in Wednesday. So hopefully by next weekend it will be up and running again.

Spent some quality time today under the Futura. When it was in the body shop six years ago, the shop installed thru-the-floor subframe connectors, which interfered with the parking brake cables. One cable, rubbing on the subframe connector, was frayed and about to break. I got a cable repair kit and have to fabricate a few parts. I also have to drill holes thru the subframe connectors, make sleeves to go in those holes and allow the cables to pass thru, and make a three-inch extension to one of the cables. Lucky for me that I work in a machine shop where we can do “government jobs” after hours.
Whoo Hoo! I took it on its first spin around the neighborhood since the SN95 brake upgrade and the 4.10's that came with the rear end. Initial alignment was good and it ran really well after a nearly 4 year hiatus.
Need insurance and tabs before I can do a good shakedown test but it still was satisfying nevertheless.

Nice weather Sunday.
After a afternoon car show/cruise, trolled side streets for about 2 hours doing low speed carb check.
10-15 mph in 1st and 2nd gear, 900-1500 rpm.
Has intermittent off idle or light throttle rpm stumble after stop or turn, that temp goes away after throttle is 'blipped'.
Prob needs minor cleaning or re-calibration. No big deal will figure it out. Like stop driving a 4 cyl like a V8.
Flipped, reinstalled, adjusted secondary stop screw, reset float level closer to spec, idle mix, curb idle with primary stop screw.
Not the official way to set curb idle, but will do for now. Smooth idle 19-20", steady normal idle rpm, drives great, mpg fine.

Got 2 new rear tires for my 88 Cougar. New Cooper Cobra GT 235 60 15. While they were off, I painted the rear brake calipers. Nice to get it driving again.

Now stang-less.

Took a cruise last night.
The Woodward Dream Cruise is officially next Saturday but cars and spectators are out there now.
Little bit of everything. Old, new, junk, exotics.
Was a road test to check out more stop and go carb adjustments. Guessing on the fine tuning.
Had the common Holley intermittent throttle 'dead spot' feathering pedal off idle.
Not consistent as to what rpm the drop would start. 1100-1500.
Like creeping in traffic needing to bring rpm up just a little off idle to feather clutch and roll a few feet.
From a stop or turning from a yield sign to move out very slowly to 7-10-12-14 mph.
Above that is fine and not willing to lose that tuning, or drop mpg.
Turned secondary stop screw out 1/8 turn, idle mix screws out 1/2 turn. Much better.
1000-1500 range is more linear and responsive. Solid idle rpm and idle vac readings stayed the same.
The 5200 Holley did this well. The engine with this bit larger carb wants to go.
Calmed the Mustang down.
Deep wash yesterday. Have to finalize spark plug replacement which has turned out to be a massive PITA due to the factory Emissions System being fully-intact. My hands are too big to 'wiggle-through' the RH (last) cylinder grrrr
Installed my new pushrods into my 331 stroker. Installed my new Motorsport 28.2oz balancer (Yes Motorsport it's THAT OLD!), and my new Flywheel again 28.2 oz. Need to install the scattershield and the Tremec 3550 and the drivetrain is ready to drop back into the car.
Test fit the Cervini front air dam to my Maier Racing 83-86 fiberglass front bumper. Need to do some trimming for it to fit properly and allow for the brake duct openings. Progress, slow . . . But still moving Forward!

Awesome stuff Trey! That Saleen kit will be a nice addition.
lets see....... well I had to track down a front bumper cover for my kids (MY) 2011 fusion with grill, all junk one in the yards so I had to get one from a dismanter and it all came to $475.00 F-meeeeee! and I still have to paint it.
Then today I replaced the ECT on the Capri and my new TPS sensor should be here soon. My old sensor reads closed 4.99 volts and at wide open its at .96 volts so something is wrong lol. it idles great but up till say about 2200 rpm it just rolls over flat

Was thinking -- that Cervini or even an actual Saleen kit is cool and all but in a lot of ways its just not right for an 85.
If you want, you can use my spare ground effects on the sides for the 85 buildup you're doing. That will take care of correct sides. From there you'll need the rear spats, front facia, and wing.
I am no help at all on the wing - I don't have a line on any more. As far as the other stuff goes...... let's catch up.
Always better to see 85 parts on an 85.
Thanks! I considered reworking a spare 82 GT front air dam to fit the front bumper cover to look more "Correct" for the vintage. I may still do that as I really like the look, but right now it's just too much time and trouble. I really need this car to run and drive and not be another driveway statue or garage hog. Although the side spats would be more correct, I personally don't like the look it always appeared unfinished to me and I prefer the full rear valance. That is why I bought the whole Cervini kit as at least it has all the parts and pieces. Otherwise I would spend almost the same amount of $$ for just a rear valance and a set of side skirts. Last the rear wing, mine actually doesn't have a 3rd brake light, so from a distance it almost looks right to the untrained eye. I have also considered modifying my rear wing to try and mimic the "BIG" Wing of the early cars. I have some pictures to go off of, but unfortunately I have never seen one in person, so my overall dimensions and proportions would probably not be "Right".
Bottom line is I don't have the time or the funds right now to do an Accurate Saleen Clone and really have no desire. My GT doesn't have any specific heritage or anything linking it to Saleen. I just have always liked the styling and the looks, but know that I probably couldn't leave a real one alone for any length of time. So this gives me my outlet to customize, modify, and have fun with without harming a Real Saleen in the process. Besides the car has the Maier Racing front flared 1.5" fenders and I will be modifying the rear quarters to match, so there's that too. 275/40/17 tires up front and 315/35/17 in the rear with Cobra R wheels right now, but hopefully some more period correct looking wheels in the near future. A fun play toy that I don't mind driving as much as possible when the weather permits here in CO.
