Default Source for oem reverse lamp sockets for early 80s

Anyone know of a source for oem quality reverse lamp sockets? I'm talking about a socket with pigtails.
I had used a cheap auto parts store part but the very first time I tried to remove it, the low quality socket wouldn't come out. By the time I actually pried it out, it was in two pieces.
It's an 80 Thunderbird but I'm assuming most the early 80s fords all had the same 1157 type design.

I am no T Bird expert, but are you sure the correct bulb is an 1157 and not an 1156?

The Mustang uses the 1156 and most others I have seen are the same since you only need the single element for the reverse lights and not a dual element for a combo brake/turn or running light/turn light.

Thought that might be the case.

Post up a picture of your pigtail if you can. I know there are options out there, but would need to make sure its correct for your application.

Have you tried NPD? They carry some for Mustangs....thinking they might be the same or adaptable?

I ended up going to a local junk yard and scored an OEM socket off an early 80s Ford. From looking around the bulb style my 80 Thunderbird uses, seems to have changed to a push in type around 1984/85 by the very few older cars in the yard.
