Lol that's an understatement. I haven't heard Duan's name since HC50 slowed down years ago.

I've heard the phrase "go big or go home". It's pretty obvious you don't intend to go home!

Or "if you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch". It also looks like you will not be confined to any porch.

Looking at those pics gives me a tingle in the nether regions.

I followed with interest your build of the car, and now I see why it was built so stout.

Honestly, I Never thought I would ever build anything this radical. But I was finally able to find some incredibly Talented and Honest people ( now life-long friends) that have made my Quest for my Ultimate dream! I've always been fascinated by the human hands on creativeness and fabrication skills. For a great example, I appreciate things like the rivetted panels on the planes and any mechanical components. I am truly Blessed to finally find friends with these qualities after all if the heart aches and night mares of past failed attempts.

I haven't been on the site for a while and just dropped by. Glad I did! This is a real interesting build. I have a few questions if you could answer them it would be great.

I am going to build the engine in dynomation and a couple other programs and see where it might fall performance wise. Then i will most likely drool on myself.

Also looking for builder input on the sportsman blocks.

Is this a pump gas deal or high compression race?

Did the builder put the 2.19 intakes in a stock port or are the heads ported? Best flow numbers I can find are 361 cfm with a 2.15 intake valve and 225 cfm with a 1.65 exhaust

Is the carb 1200 cfm or larger?

Are you running the lifter bores as delivered or did you the bores checked and corrected? Running .875" lifters?

Cannot wait to learn more about this build

    Thanks

    1.Pump Gas build with 11.25 to 1
    2. Heads were ported some by Duane Busch
    3. Heads flowed 390/290
    4. Duane upgraded to 1.710 exhaust valves
    5. Pro-Systems XC Dominator us a 1200cfm carb

Patrick@ Pro-Systems thinks motor will make more like 850hp. Told me that Duane is known for making Big HP.

Also, lifter bores were all checked. The Sportsman block is a great aftermarket block to build with. They can hold together with big HP #s.

Why is the lifter area painted red and the rest of the block black. Is that a special coating?
