    Default Whatever Happened To...

The listing for that clapped-out Red '86 Saleen? I wanted to see if it had sold yet, but the post is no longer available.
IIRC, the asking price was around $11-12G's??

Is it still available, if not, is it possible to repost the ad? Worn-out, all-stock Saleens are extremely rare!
Yes I said the 'R' word...no, not THAT 'R' word

What do you guys think, decent value? It looked like hell, but check it out; interior was all-stock and all-there, and so was everything under the hood.

I see $12k-ish to "restore" it... and end up with a $20k "restored" car.
Price needs to be around 8k, IMHO. Otherwise, you're better off trying to find one already done.

    now 50k miles - still 98% original.

I am no Saleen expert, but I at least know what it takes to restore the average Fox and especially in regards to paint and body work. I have to agree with the statement above. Around $8K the car is a reasonable investment. Otherwise I believe you will be upside down in the car at least with the current market for Saleens. I do believe they will only increase in value over time, but would hate to over spend too much on a car that needs that much TLC when you can buy a nice one for the same overall investment or maybe even less.

Agree that the interior is really nice and clean, but I still wonder what overall condition the drivetrain, etc. is in when looking at the exterior.

Good stuff guys. The "garaged 25 years" claim seems doubtful; unless he meant garaged 1986-2011, then returned to the garage after spending seven years abandoned in the desert!
