    Default 79-81 Blower Resistor Source

My blower motor does not work, but it has been replaced. My next thought is to replace the resistor. Does anyone have a source for them because they appear to be discontinued everywhere I have looked. I can only find 82-93 resistors available. Anyone have the replacement part number, or know of a crossover / other vehicle it came on (Fairmont, etc.)?

The part number for 80-81 Mustang/Capri/Fairmont blower resistor with factory installed A/C is D8BZ 19A706-A. The part number for 82 on up Mustang/Capri/Fairmont with factory installed A/C is E35Y 19A706-A.

Looking at the two parts, the connector configuration on the two look the same, but the later part has a housing around the connectors that I'm guessing is supposed to allow for the pushing in of the harness on the resistor. The earlier part does not have the housing. I don't know if the two are interchangeable.

The E35Y part number is easy to find. The D8BZ part number...not so easy to find. There are a couple on Ebay for a premium price. I checked rearcounter and a place called East Texas Auto Air, (903) 753-0089, is supposed to have 9.

If you're looking at an aftermarket part, try to make sure it cross references to one of the factory parts numbers.

Let me know if you need a part number for another car.
If they take my stapler, then I'll set the building on fire...

Alright, I figure out last night my controls are the problem. I have power in, but not transferred out. If I jump the two wires, the blower functions as it should with all speeds. Thanks for all the responses on the resistor, and I don't need to buy one this time. The shop at East Texas wants $49.50 + $8 shipping, FYI.
