    Default Ranger 5-lug front rotors

I have a 1979 base 302. Raybestos 6865R/BR5447 rotors will work on early fox V-8 Mustangs. I used AutoZone bearing Set12, Set17, 6815 seal, 5 lug on Front for around $120.00... No brake upgrade, but now a better choice for wheels.

Does anyone know if ranger rear axels fit fox body?

Guys use ranger axles all the time for 5 lug swaps.

They are different lengths per side. I never actually did a 5 lug swap. I had turned larger 10" drums and couldn't find exact information on what would swap and gave up.

What year of Ranger was this for? For some reason I thought it was limited to the 83-87s for some reason. But I can't imagine them changing much as long as they were twin i-beam generation (all the way up to 1997).

I plowed through the "ultimate 5 lug swap thread" and there's maybe 4 posts about ranger front rotors in that whole 18 page thread. I have a word document at home where I save the tidbits in one central location. This is in my not too distant future.

Summit Racing offers 5 lug axles for 8.8's which will also work in 7.5" housings, that's what I used to convert the 8.8 in my Fairmont to 5 lug.

Interesting on the ranger front rotors, I wonder if they would fit the svo. I know a few guys have figured out how to run built wheels without the stock dust caps sticking out. Maybe this is the answer?
If you blink at the end of the straight away you'll miss the twisties and what fun would that be!

Svo uses the same stuff as a mark 7. Whenever guys swap from 87-93 gt brakes and go 5 lug, that's all they do is order them for a mark 7. Pretty much every 5-lug kit that does not require a spindle seao dies the same thing. Either Mark 7 or ranger stuff, ehich would be a bolt on swap for any of the 79-93 mustangs as far as I know.

Just cause I said that, there's gonna be some early car with 8 and 1/4" brakes.

I used 1983 Ranger 2.0L rotors to swap to 5 lug on my 86GT. Same bearings as stock but don’t waste your time - ask for 87-93 4 cyl bearings and seals and the doofus at the parts counter will get the right stuff.

you will need dust caps from the help
section also as ranger caps are different

everything else was a direct fit

my only suggestion is get a 1/8” to 1/4” spacer if you are running wheels for SN95. My tribars fit but the wheel weights rubbed on the struts and the tires rubbed on the frame if I turned too far.

The 1/8” of additional track width I eventually picked up when I swapped to SN95 was a god sent

I have basically new rotors and everything in my storage shed— only put about 200 miles on the car before I SN swapped the front. The stuff worked great but my A-arm bushings and balljoints and springs were very tired from nearly 1/2 million miles. I got a super good deal on SN parts from a good friend and just couldn’t pass up the upgrade.

Pm me if you want to work something out. I have no use for the setup anymore.

'83-'92 Ranger and '84-'90 Bronco II. I do not remember what year Aerostar axle shafts worked. None of the used axle shafts I looked at were worth the time/money so I bought new shafts.

This is in the five lug swap guide post, but I cannot say if it is valid or not:
In the rear, ONLY the 7.5" axle equipped rangers/areostars will work, if it has 10" drums (7.5" axles have 9" foxbody size drums, which swap directly over) it has an 8.8" axle with more offset and the axles don't fit. the 28 spline units in the 8.8 and 7.5 axles are the same strength, the 7.5" just has a smaller ring and pumpkin.
