I owned several foxbody Mustang's and a Capri in my teens and twenties. Now i'm in my early fourties. I really didn't have any plan to get back into the car scene but when I saw this 1979 4cyl. Mustang with 18,000 kms on Kijiji I had to have it. It just called to me. I picked it up in Delisle, SK over Christmas and trailered it back to Calgary. It looks, runs, and drives like a new car, mostly. It was repainted in the early 80's by the dealer and the job wasn't great, but it still looks really good for it's age. I've ordered the LMR TRX wheels and tires for it but other than that I plan to keep it mostly stock. We'll see how long that lasts! Hello to everyone for the awesome site!

The guy in the picture is the previous owner. Frank is in his 70's and the car belonged to his mother.

    Welcome to the site!

I am also in Calgary and have a couple of 79's. I'd love to see the car someday to look at it and check it out!

Nice to meet you Darran. I love the 79's. I had a 1979 red coupe with a 2.8L in my early years but the body was too far gone to save. It will be a couple of months before I get the OOP safety done and the car plated but would love get together and see your cars when I get this one on the road.

Welcome! I like your car! I’ve missed seeing those spokes on bright early car colors. So 70’s, and so cool !

Hi Welcome. Excellent decision. Drive it. Enjoy it.
Good looking car, low km find like that is amazing. 2.3 is a durable engine. Paint looks fine from here.
Reminds of early years of Mustang. Respectable, reliable, simple, inexpensive transportation.
Stock can be very rewarding. Does take discipline to keep it that way. Correcting flaws don't count.
It is relaxing knowing not have to deal with all the craziness and expense of newer 'transportation'. Like a free pass.
They don't, cannot, won't, make real cars like that anymore. The kind older and young can be seen in.
Do post pics of it with the LMR TRX when done. They are a sharp update for these cars.
