Default 86 4 cylinder to v8 carb swap fuel tank question

I just picked up an 86 notchback roller that was originally a 4 cylinder auto. My plan is to transplant everything from my 85 over to it, carb’d 347, t5, etc.

my question is, to run my carb’d engine with the mechanical fuel pump that is on it already, what would I have to do to the stock fuel tank on the 86 for it to work?

i bought the notchback because I found my frame rail was rotted out pretty bad in my hatchback, so budget is definitely a concern because I wasn’t expecting to have to pick this vehicle up.

    Thanks.

If 86 car was originally fuel injected with a fuel pump in the tank. You need to replace the sending unit in the tank and re-work the fuel lines. If you still have your 1985 use the parts off it.
