    Pat,

    Thanks for the info.

Since every suspension bolt in a 1978 and up Fox chassis car is Metric, I see no reason to think that the seat mounts wouldn't be metric also. All Fox Mustangs use an M10-1.5 bolt in this location.

    1986 FMS Catalog page 65:

    Ford Motorsport Seat M-60000-A/B "...Fits Ford corporation bucket seat track systems (1979-86 Mustang/Capri, 1980-86 Thunderbird/Cougar, 1981-86 Escort/Lynx/EXP/LN-7 and 1984-86 Tempo/Topaz)."

That's just saying that that seat fits those seat tracks.

Like I said earlier, I used to use two door tempo and escort seats in my cougar when my seat back broke when I was a kid.

I don't get why everyone thinks the seat tracks would be the same, mustang subframe connectors are angled. The tbird cougar ones aren't just longer, they are also straight. Maximum motor sports is one of few places to actually sell them for our cars, pretty sure they have seat braces specific to them also.

Exactly! If your vehicle (from that list) retains the stock tracks, than a seat from any other vehicle listed bolts on directly. In other words, all those seats have the same track bolt pattern, they all interchange. Or am I missing something?

The bottom of the seat swaps yes. The seat tracks euere they mount to the car are different.

Maybe I'll make a trip down to my storage unit and pull out with a mustang and cougarbird seat track and actually document the differences since this was come up so much lately.

Usually stuff like this just gets ignored and forgotten.
