    Default 91 302 coverted to carb update(pics)

Some of you might remember me asking for advice on removing and converting a 91 302 efi to carb a while back.

Anyways, just thought I would share some pics of the progress I've made. Not as nice as some of the experts but Not bad for my first time ever messing with a engine. Thanks for the info from people that replied and helped in my previous thread.

Looking good! I would remove the smog pipe from the back of the heads and plug the holes. You can use short bolts or some use spark plugs with the ceramic broken off.

I removed the smog pipe and it does not look like the holes are threaded. They are very clogged with carbon. Any idea what thread type the holes are and best way to clean them up?
    Thanks

    Yep looking real good !!

I believe the holes for the thermactor ports at the back of the heads are 5/8 NC threads but they will be plugged with carbon typically. I used a tap to clean mine out and then just got a short 5/8 bolt to plug the hole. If you want to get fancy you can also buy the proper thermactor plugs but a bolt works just fine too.

    Cheers
