    Default Subframe connectors for my wagon

    I bought a set of MM full length connectors and the shop lengthened them for the car.
    Couldn't find the right size steel locally so they fabbed up some channel.

    Had an 8.8 with 3.27 gears, upper and lower torque box reinforcements and control arms done as well.

    What a difference.

    Looks nice. Just curious how much they charged to install them and what kind of shop did the work. I'd like to do SFC's on my wagon next year. Rather have a shop do it than me laying on my back. I also got some info from Jack Hidley at MM about using the Mustang SFC's on the longer wheelbase cars. Sounds like you don't necessarily have to lengthen them, but I'm sure it helps. Did you get the bare or powder coated connectors?

    They were bare.
    Don't have a breakdown of the labour costs just a total on the whole job.
    The shop was actually a transmission and diff shop, but he has a fab guy that comes in when needed.
    They were lengthened 5" I think for the wagon.

    Did they install them while the car was on the 2-post hoist?

    I don't really know for sure, wasn't there so I'll have to ask.
    But I know they read the instructions...!

    For my wagon, I went to S&W Race Cars for sub-frame connectors. They have a wagon they race so they were already familiar with the correct length to send.
    As for installing them I went to a shop that races and has a drive on lift. The weight of the car should be on the tires/wheels so when the welding is done the doors will open and there’s no body flex.
