    Default A Couple Questions...

I'm fairly new to this site and I noticed that they don't do the Car of the Month anymore. Why did they stop doing them?

Also, does anyone know of any shows specifically for Fox Body Mustangs? If there are, I think it would be fun to go to one next year if it isn't too far away and time permits. I'm in Southwestern Ohio and am not aware of any shows like that around here.

You can read thru the thread here and get an idea of the struggles we were having with the ROTM.

I would like to get it going again, just need more member participation to keep it new, fresh, and fun. I might give it a try again starting next year.

That looks like a good turnout for the first time out. Congrats! Omaha would be quite a haul for me. I think I'd better look for shows a little closer to home. While my car seems to run well, I'd want to make sure I can fully trust it before taking a long distance trip in it. I've only been about an hour away from home in it so far. My other issue is that I'm looking after my 93-year-old dad who is very dependent on me, so I really can't be away from home for days at a time right now. I'm going to a Ford swap meet in Columbus, OH this weekend and am just happy to be able to do that.

There is a fest in NC yearly also but again that is a long ride.

When my grandmother was still around she was the help me load up and let’s go type of lady. She made it to 87 and went from healthy and on the go to gone in less than a month. A Pulmonary embolism is what got her or I’m sure she would still be going and going and going at 95.

my grandpa on the other side of my family was another one that was a go-er. He lived until 93 and passed from his heart valves giving out after a strep illness. He also was a help me load and let’s go but only more so. He drove just about everywhere all the time, and helped with harvesting crops the fall before he passed away, etc.

So much depends upon the situation, health, and the person on that stuff. I sure hope to be able to stay going until I just don’t.....

You may want to look up Mike Charles in the columbus oh area — he may know about shows in the area from being plugged into the scene there for so long. Mike is the regional director for SCOA and owns the first three production foxbody Saleens made along with some other very cool street and race cars.

If you are in OH then you should put Foxtoberfest on your calendar for next year! It's in Concord, NC (Charlotte) and I have been the past three years. You won't regret it....500+ Fox vehicles put on by two great groups of people, Fox Mustang Restoration and Southeast Fox Body club. It's a 9hr ride for me from Indy, so probably 7ish for you.

As for Ride Of The Month...I blame it on Facebook. While Facebook certainly has it's merits, it has really killed the attendance of forums....not just here, but forums of all types.
