OK I picked up my new 10th Anniversary wheels for my 82 GT the other night. I was hoping the 17 x 10s with the 275 tires would fit in the back with out too many problems with rubbing and clearance issues. Well I have found out they do not rub anything at all which is great
I put the rears on and while I love the look of the wheel and the deep dish effect.....they are are sticking out so much past the fender. I like an aggressive stance but do you think this is a bit of an overkill?
My 82 is only lowered about 0.5 or 0.7 inches in the rear as there is still quite a bit of gap. I have the Ford Racing B springs. So I am thinking maybe one thing to consider is to put a spring that will lower it more in the back? My front is pretty low already and I want to leave that alone. Or can I ask LMR if they will take the rears back and go with the smaller wheel/tire in the back. Now I know why I have not really seen anyone with a 79 to 84 with 10 inch wide wheels and a 275 tire in the back. I think the earlier fox chassis are smaller compared to 85 to 93 as it seems more common to see big wheels/tires on the later chassis cars. What do you guys think here?
