    Default 86 Convertible quarter rubber

What is the vertical piece of weatherstrip called on the quarter windows that is NOT the piece of weatherstrip on the front edge? I can find the weather strip that slides on the front edge of the quarter window all day long, but I can’t even find a mention for the name of the rubber strip that sits vertically just inside the front-edge weatherstripping. Am I making sense? Any help? Thanks!

No. I figured out today that the piece I’m talking about isn’t even rubber. It’s metal. Imagine a quarter window laying on the table. There is a rubber seal along its edge that meets the front window for the seal. Alongside this rubber seal, attached directly to the quarter window, there is a vertical metal piece that runs the length of the quarter window. I am missing this piece on my passenger side quarter window. You have to be able to purchase it somewhere because if you buy a new quarter window, it comes bare like mine is.

The new rubber doesnt come with the metal strip? It looks to me like the metal is molded into the rubber as one piece and then goes on the glass.

Here is a video of the weatherstrip replacement which clearly shows the vertical black metal piece as not being part of the weatherstrip.

I’m pretty sure I saw the whole window on eBay.
