    Default Lowering spings

What are the most common lowering Springs used on 86 foxbodies. Looking for approximately 1 to 1.5 drop. Any pics of your car would be awesome.

You can get that much drop pretty easily with stock springs and keep most of your bump travel while you're at it, believe it or not.

In front, you can use Steeda X2 balljoint (which are 3/4" longer) and 94-95 spindles. X2s are designed to provide reasonable bumpsteer geometry with 94-95 spindles and factory springs but require use of the spacers they come with to get you there. ( which can partly but not entirely made up for with offset rack bushings) Get a bumpsteer kit for SN95 spindles on foxbody from Maximum Motorsports instead and bumpsteer your car. The next thing that drops the front end the rest of the way is a set of caster/camber plates like the old-school HP Motorosports plates some speed shops still have around new in box even though they stopped making them 10+ years ago and HPM is no longer around.

You'll likely need camber bolts to get your camber correct with the SN95 spindles on a fox because those spindles are designed for use with a wider Kmember and a wide A-arm and X2's makes the problem even worse. Its workable with camber bolts. That's what I did on my 86GT

In the rear you'll need some shorter spring isolators than the stock ones. 4cyl LX springs help and also soften the ride - they were used on the 1993 cobra.... You can grind a little off the spring on each end to adjust, or put a little weight in the back of the car for good measure.

Here is a decent picture of the stance on my rusty old 86GT.

2nd picture I took 75 lbs out of the back of the car. I still need to switch to fox width axles and trim my rear springs to complete the 5 lug plus brake upgrades mod I did to it a few years ago.

I've got Eibach Pro-Kit springs, polyurethane isolators, Maximum Motorsports CC plates, sn95 spindles, Maximum Motorsports extreme duty adjustable rear lower control arms.

I bought the rear arms so I could lower the rear without cutting perfectly good springs, because I removed the heavy factory sound deadening material in the hatch area.Name: IMG_0576.jpg

You can pretty well get that drop with most kits out there. LMR has got a great selection and if you look on their website it will indicate the approximate drop. The Ford B springs that 84LXVert has are on the website as well. Just stay away from the Eibach Sportline as that will give you a potential 2 inch drop. You can't go wrong with Ford Racing, SVE or Eibach Pro Kit amongst others.
