    Default Another 1982 GT Found!

So I start off my story with this, living in northern Michigan its hard to find decent foxbody's and even harder to find four eyed cars that have not been converted. I stumbled onto this car by complete luck, I was driving home from work 2 years ago in April after a large storm went through and spotted what was the taillights of a 1979-1982 car all because the wind blew off the cover! I passed this thing for 5 years and never knew it was there. So it took me until July to find the owner and get a hold of them (turned out to be one of our customers at work) anyway some adult things came up in life and i was not able to buy it until last Saturday and boy do I have a HUGE smile on my face!

This car is Probably 99% stock even got the original TRX wheels, the interior is perfect for a car that has sat sense 1996 and the underneath is better then i though it ever was due to setting outside pretty much in a swamp. have no idea what to do with it but i just wanted to share the car with you guys! oh and his wife ordered this car new and it is fully loaded with everything!

Needs to be redone and put back to its glory days put a new roof skin on it to get rid of that aftermarket sunroof

I was very surprised that the dash pad was not cracked or the center counsel broken, only thing i found broken is the buttons to open the glove box are missing, The knob for the Recaro seat I already fixed lol

The plan right now is to get it running first and then go from there.

The only thing super rusty is both door skins are rotted off on the bottom and the hatch has lip rust under the wing

    Congrats on the find!

Not many seen with the Recaros! Most red cars all have red interior but I guess with the Recaro, you only get black!

Can you show another picture of the seat backs? Never really see them but I think the 82 had an extra bulge to them from the 79 at least.

Here is a picture of the back seat that you requested. Is anyone wants photos of anything else before I tear more apart just let me know.

On a side note I am not sure if the original motor will stay in the car it’s pretty nasty that’s for sure, but if I replace it it will stay a 302 not anything crazy for this car.

Dealer/Ziebart for sure. Not factory...factory is much bigger, sits ~8" further forward and follows the curve of the windshield at the front.

Nice find! Looks like it will be a fun project.

That dashpad....was it that shiny and clean??? That's a great find...except for all the gunk in the engine it looks great.

Be sure to keep all the original stuff off the car just in case if someone wants to restore it back to original if you sell it

If you recover the seats with factory style I’d be interested to know how well they fit.

The TMI covers fit just like the factory ones, they are really hard to tell apart. I would highly recommend them.

WOW! Awesome find. Looks very original and as stated, loaded. I guess at a minimum we all learned to never use Kendall oil. Yikes, that is crusty!
