Default 1st Annual Midwest Fox Fest Omaha, NE - September 29 2018

Well the first Midwest Fox Fest here in Omaha, NE is finally in the books! What a whirlwind weekend it turned out to be!!!

The weather ended up being pretty crappy with the cold and the most of the day heavy mist/light rain combo.
We also had to make some last minute changes to the entertainment, which actually worked out better IMHO.

We were really concerned that the weather was really going to almost kill this event but we continued trudging along and hoping for the best!! We were committed to having a show...even if the snow started flying!

With that being said......we had what I would consider it an amazing turnout with a total of 69 cars that came and most of them stuck out the weather. Some of these cars had never seen rain before in their lives and the owners were extremely cool and happy to be a part of this.

We had cars come in from Missouri, Kansas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado and Eastern Iowa near the Illinois border as well as from all across Nebraska. Multiple "long haulers" drove their cars 3-600 miles one way just to attend this one!

Another cool aspect of the show is that out of the 69 cars that attended, 22 of them fall in the 4-Eye class!!!! The 4-eyes made a really killer showing, which seems uncommon a lot of times.

I believe that had the weather forecast had been better in the week leading up to the event, we would have broke 120 cars easily.

I have a feeling that this event will grow into a must attend event in the near future and I'm excited to see where it heads.

Now onto the important stuff!!!! Pictures!!!!!

Many of the cars that came had one hell of a story behind them. A few of the builds were totally off the chain. A bunch of very nice cars and also several well used or beat up old rides that make sure it was more than just a show.

if my beat up black 86 with nearly 1/2 million miles on it could talk, I’d crush it into a cube and melt it down before you can spell oxy-acetylene or even say torch! Lol.

Great turnout Brock. Really nice variety of cars. Haven't seen one of those Ronnie Sox Mustangs in a long time. Great job on putting on that show. You should be proud.

I've been to every Foxtoberfest there has been and I believe the first 2 didn't have that many show up but I know for sure the first one didn't. So considering how everyone is all bundled up in coats, that is TERRIFIC! Great job! Congratulations.

More info on the blue aero. Is that one of the wide body cars that I saw in hot rod or car craft back in the day? I really had every intention of making it to the show... but soccer... and well I didn't. Even had thought about tailoring my car down there just so I could pull up to the show. Man, life is just too busy. We were even in west o that day, as everyone was leaving the show

Thanks! It was a great show and I was honestly surprised with the outcome due to the weather. What really surprised me was the amount of cars that drove in despite looking like a trailer car. In fact, a ton of the out of towners drove their cars in which is amazing!
That black aero Saleen drove in 6 hours from Minnesota in this weather and then drove back in it. That guy is awesome!!!

Come to find out that out of the 6 Ronnie Sox cars that were made, only 3 remain and that owner has 2 of them.

I think with all things considered, this show turned out amazing and we are stoked to do it again next year and hopefully the weather will be much better.

For sure it would have fit in Scotty! We had a little bit of everything and a whole lot of cool!
Hopefully it works out next year and you're not fighting a cold and you can make it up. I know it will be a great time for everyone.

Here you go. This is the first Foxtoberfest. I've been to them all. And look how nice the weather was then. You sir, are on to something good there. Great turnout. I wish you hadn't started a new thread because I meant to post this on the other one. Now there are two, LOL.

Thanks for that Homer, it give me a warmer feeling inside than the hot chocolate did during this cold show.

After a lot of research, talking with people, helping out at other shows, etc. I think we did extremely well with the layout, the movement and fluidity of the event lot and so forth to create a hassle free environment to get people in and out of the show with minimal hiccups. That is always a concern as nobody want to deal with disorganization getting in or out of a show and that can really set the mood for the whole event.

Out of everyone that came, I have not heard of 1 person that said they are not coming back. Everyone else is also stoked to be a part of this for years to come, so I hope and pray we can continue to do a great job and have this grow into a must attend event.

We would have loved to have you there, even as just a spectator Shane. Hopefully next year you can make it and join us as it's been awhile since we have met up.

Yes, that blue car is the hand built widebody chop top created by Doug at Autokraft in Lincoln. Doug is also the one who did all of Paul and Kenny Browns bodywork on their race cars and I also believe he has ties to Steve Saleen.
It is a local legend and also a magazine car back in the day. It was a treat to convince Doug to bring it up as it always generates some buzz.
