Does anyone have a picture of how the heat shield is attached to the firewall. Mine was held on by one screw but the top was not attached. I am going to have it sand blasted and powder coated and attached properly.
Thanks,

If you are talking about the one up by the hood hinge, I believe the one side is held in place with the plastic pins like what’s us3d on the door panels. I could leave ok on Monday.

Yes - the one near the hood hinge. The below is just a screw (not sure if that is correct). That would be great if you could look. Thanks,
Hi,
I'm at a total loss to picture what you're asking about. The only heat shield I know on my 84 Capri RS is between the turbo waste gate actuator and the exhaust manifold.
Any chance you're talking about the radio interference 'helper'. A flat brass tab with a bunch of holes punched in it? (Sorry if not, I'm just not sure what you could be talking about on an 84 GT Turbo

Same shield is used on the SVO.

Yes - It is in the upper left engine compartment (when looking at the engine) and shields wiring. I believe this was a turbo specific part.
This? I looked through dozens of photos I have for reference when rebuilding and this is the only one I can find with something like you've described.
Hope this helps,
Chris

Yes - That is it. Trying to figure out how it is attached. Mine was attached with a rusty screw.
A rusty screw is all there is that holds them on! Sorry but these are all the pictures I have of mine. I always considered it more of a beauty shield than a heat shield. Its a rats nest of wires in that corner.
Thanks for looking.
