Default Post your budget paint jobs!

Going to start on the body work soon so I can get it painted before winter. I'm trying to decide on a color. Probably just use a budget friendly single stage like the one from summit. Might do the body work/prep and then let maaco shoot it (I know, I know.)

    Anyways, post your paint jobs

Ace metal enamel is very inexpensive and shines nicely. I resprayed everything below the grey trim on my 86GT with it using a propels sprayer..... worked great, turned out way better than it should have.

The car is in......how shall I put it? In progress, lol! Look at my '83 t-top coupe thread. It's a shell in my garage right now and I just got through putting a new floorpan in it and am working on a chassis support at the moment.

Its called rescue green metallic, though it's only pearls in it.

Love this car. There was an aero (I think) that I saw that reminded me of yours but I couldn't locate a pic. I'll now try to locate pics of the other car!

Both my Foxes are painted 2 stage Eastwood. The 88 was a driveway spray while the 85 was painted 2nd time blue in a open garage.
I spent around $500 each for all supply's including paint.

This black cherry was only $150.00 a gallon at goodguys car show. Put 3 coats black cherry and 6 coats of clear. The Black accents is just cheap old hot rod black in a satin.Name: 20160102_193059.jpg

I painted this ranger with rustoleum yellow out in the driveway with a 110v craftsman compressor and and 15 dollar paint gun. Was going to let it cure a month or so and and wet sand and buff it, but so it the next day. Haha

My dad and I painted my car in my garage and backyard. Bought paint and supplies from local auto paint shop, probably spent $1000 or so for everything. By no means perfect, but think it turned out pretty well for a first time. Has held up fairly well over the last nearly 10 years, though it sits in the garage the majority of the time.

    In progress:

    Final product:

I painted my car in the garage a few years ago. It came out pretty good after polishing the clear but I won’t do it again. I painted it in the winter and I had overspray the place.
