I've got a battered old 1983 Suzuki GS650GL that I ride now and then. It needs a little TLC before I go far...it was my first bike, back in 2003.

I got my motorcycle license in 1970, so I've been riding for a while. I bought my Sportster new 30 years ago.

Before that I had this BSA I bought in '73.

Since I was kind of a hippie back then I modified the Beezer into this a year or so later.

I don't ride nearly as much as I used to but still enjoy it when I do.

I sold both my cr250's several years ago. Too much work to load up to drive an hour or more to ride then come home and fix everything that broke. I still have my cbr954. A whole lot of fun to take to the track and ride them like they were meant to be. Fast forward to kids and too much work, it has sat for 2 years now i think. Still eye watering fun when I have the chance

I had a 71 Yamaha 125, rode it into the ground and blew it up. Bought a 72, rode it until it started knocking badly. Bought a busted up 74 and put the 72 and 74 together, slapped a paint job on it and rode it for years. The 72 went in the trash one section at a time. The 74 was stolen out of my garage in 1999 along with the Kicker Comp series subwoofer I had in my 86GT. More or less that was it on the riding for me. I’ve rode my buddy’s 1100 ninja a few times and his Harley a few times too. The Harley is a handful. Haven’t rode in several years. It’s fun when I get the chance.

Be careful out there. You are 4x more likely to be involved in an accident per mile traveled on a bike vs car. When accidents happen with a bike it is 10x more likely for that accident to be fatal.

In contrast, you are 25x less likely to be killed in a car with a cage in it vs one without. That does not even factor in what the cage is.

    Interesting statistics.

i guess I need to get a street cage or two one of these days.

I don't worry too much about motorcycle accident stats. A significantly large percentage of accidents are single vehicle accidents and involve alcohol and or other unsafe practices. More fatalities are to helmetless riders than those who wear them. I don't engage in that sort of riding and wear full head to toe protective gear on every ride. I have done close to a half million kilometers of riding over nearly forty years with only one accident in which I hit a deer.

Also, my 79 has a cage.

That's prolly true ed. I fancy myself a pretty decent rider, buuuut, I looped a wheelie on the highway once. We walked it out, about 200 feet I slid. No helmet, but a good vanson leather jacket. I ground the corners off my boots, scuffed up my elbows, and ground halfway through my cellphone in my back pocket. I would have rode it home but all the oil falls out of a Honda when the stator cover gets ruptured

When I started riding, I lived in Maine. More moose than cars in the North.
Motorcycles are seasonal and people look for you when it's sunny (if they aren't absorbed in their phones).

I moved to Galveston, TX for a few years a decade ago, and no one cares about motorcycles. Trying to merge onto the Houston beltway with a tractor trailer following me on the ramp and a full-size pickup on the highway 3" behind my rear wheel and no one moving to let me merge while we're all going over 80...I wasn't sure I was going to fit, I was flat out with nowhere to go and even in a car that's uncomfortable. On a bike, I was convinced I was going to be a red smear across 3 lanes and no one was even going to stop. That was pretty much every time I took the bike to Houston. I didn't ride much more until I moved back to Maine.

Back in the early 80's a buddy's dad was going to junk his 71 Honda CB350. He gave it to me for free and I bought a new battery and tuned the engine and it ran great. Had it for 2 years till my mailman wanted to buy it. He offered me $150 and said sold. Sure wish I had kept that bike.

I used to Ride many years ago. Had many Bikes over the years. Getting too old now at 45, lol. But have been thinking about a Honda or Kawasaki 600-1000 cc sports bike. I love the old school bikes that I grew up with, but think the newer twin parallel sports bikes are very inviting.

1985 Yamaha Fazer 750cc, was the bike I had in high school. A few years back I spent a lot of time and effort to find another one and restored it. This has the yamaha sport bike genesis 24V engine in a street fighter style bike. This bike gets a ton of attention, most people have no idea what it is or if it's new or old.

I am pretty hard core when it comes to riding, at least for around here. Current ride is a 2015 Triumph Trophy SE I got brand new in Oct '16 and now has a touch under 19,000 miles. It replaced my Goldwing that got totaled the August before I got this one. My GW was a 2000 SE, only had 130,000 miles on it (bought it in 2005 with 13,000). The TTSE is a great bike with over 130 HP, great weather protection, XM/Bluetooth, Am/FM, two charging ports, plug ins for heated gear or whatever, lots more, and gets about 50 MPG. But I miss my GW because I could tow with it.

I ride year round in all weather except stupid (sticking snow or ice). Though, I have been stupid...

The other bike under my carport is an '02 Honda CBR1100xx Super Blackbird. Babysitting it for a few years while my brother in law is overseas. That puppy is scary fast! But I hardly ever ride it. Prefer the Triumph. At 49 years old, I like my performance with a little comfort.

    OK,
I am 67 and can still hold my own. Nothing better then coming up on a group of sportbikes, then picking them off 1by1, Then I stopped an took off my helmet with all my gray and they would not stop when they saw it...
Also my bike is so easy to ride fast. 175HP and weight of 422lbs, High10s at will.I love this v-4 Aprilia Torno with its upright riding position and motor that wont quit.....
