    Default Mecum Auction Pinto

Might want to be sitting down before checking the sale price on this Pinto.

Seems like a lot but when I think of the $70,000 price tag on a new pick-up truck, it doesn't seem so bad.

Perhaps buyer has too much money and had too many drinks, at the end of the day it's still a Pinto!

Those auctions are so damaging to the hobby. That said, I would LOVE to have that Pinto! I love the wagons and what color's better than Jade Green?! Even with a green interior! Oh, baby!

i was at mecum indy this year and there were 3 pinto wagons just like this there and 2 were factory 4 speeds, all were original and low miles. they all sold for under 10K. around 8k each if i remember right. weird this one went for so much.

For that kind of coin, I was expecting a Black Jade '72 wagon with blackwalls, on jackstands, nubs still on the tires, and 3 original miles. Kind of a letdown!

Guess this means that all the basket case Pinto's are now worth $5000.
