    Default 8.8 sources

Tried searching and either used bad search words or didn't look far enough. So...

I know car 8.8 rears (Mustang, Lincoln, etc) all work under our cars. What about an 8.8 from a 1993 F150? Same housing, just axles/internals different?

Probaly gonna be a mile too wide. What are you looking to use/do with it? I find free isnt usually cheap enough to justify modifying to work

It's not free, just want to know my full range of options. Would like to swap my 7.5 for an 8.8 under the Granada. Staying drum and 4 lug. I just didn't k ow if the F150 housing was the same or not. Planning all new internals anyway (axles, diff, etc).

No, F-150 is set up for leaf springs while our cars/diffs are bracketed for the asymetrical quadra-bind. And the F-150 is something like 4" longer each side.....

Keep searching and be patient. They are out there. I just picked up a complete 8.8" disc brake Turbo Coupe rearend last weekend for $100. Mark VII, 87-88 Turbo Coupes, '86+ Mustang GTs, and 94-98 Mustang GTs are all good donors for your car. You may have to swap axles to get the correct track width, but all of those housings should be quite similar. The pick your part junkyards local to me sell a complete rearend for a little over $100.

Not worried about it. I refuse to drive that far anyway. The fuel cost would be huge with the Bronco/trailer to get it home. Even a junk yard here for $150 would cost me less than driving for one half the price.

I had forgotten about the trucks being leaf spring rears. Makes total sense. Funny since I have one... 🤣

Keep the axles out of the 7.5...they are the same as the 8.8 ones, in case you break one down the road.
