1979 pace car hood. Functional cowl induction. It's heavy but looks so good. I do need to seal the air cleaner better to it.
What mods did you have to do to make it fit?
Edit- No need to explain... I have an idea of what was done...

Interior/dash is out. I know some of purists on the site may not be too excited about stripping out a nice stock interior but this car was staring to fall apart at the seams and needed to be tied together. Really, the only thing stock left was the interior anyway.
Floor prepped. Some cracks and a little rust will be repaired.

Just a thought on the hood- i used the original air cleaner base, and extended it with sheet steel until it was 1/4 inch off of the hood. (Easy to do with a hole in the center!) and then used a really good butyl door gasket as a seal. It worked out well.
1983 Mustang G.T. No-option stripper- I like strippers.
5.0, GT40P heads, Comp Cams XE270HR-12 on 1.6 rockers, TFI spring kit, Weiand 174 blower, Holley 750 mechanical secondarys, Mishimoto radiator, Edelbrock street performer mechanical pump, BBK shortys, T-5 conversion, 8.8 rear, 3.73 gears, carbon fiber clutches, SS Machine lowers, Maximum Motorsport XL subframes, "B" springs.
Torque boxes cut out. They were too far gone to go 130mph safely.

New crossmember will tie the new extended RLCA's, subframe connectors and roll cage together as one unit. (Rearend isn't mine, I'm running an 8.

Quite a serious machine!
looks like it’s nearly ready to put some work in at a track and hurt some feelings. Guaranteed it will too.
Good luck with your build
Beautiful car.......them stickers on the light covers kill the Stealth look.......but other than that....perfect.
The car is really coming along nicely.
I do have a big question, is this car being set up for road racing? Looking at your suspension etc, I am guessing that is the case.
I ask that in regards to the roll cage. If road racing are you planning on running a specific class or division? I just have concerns with some of the roll cage design. It doesn't appear to follow some standard practices for road racing and a few points don't meet the rules of NASA, SCCA, and maybe others for competition cages. Might be fine for Time Trials, HPDE, etc. but I personally would make a few minor changes if everything isn't already welded up to improve the overall structure and design. Just my .02 for what it's worth, don't want to be critical, but this is safety related and not just personal tastes.

It's basically a HPDE car. I may move to time trials once I get more wheel time. I would probably get a Miata or something much cheaper if I got into wheel to
wheel. But I was assured by the cage builder he's following SCCA rules. He's mentioned he hasn't exceeded the square inch limitations of the plates welded to the car and we've even gone over the rulebook sketches etc. I know the door bars aren't the usual but I requested that I keep my door glass. The car will remain street legal(barely) so I can drive it to the track. What are your concerns about the safety.?

The biggest issue is the rear bars essentially are unsupported. This is from the NASA Club Codes & Regulations.
There are some other areas that my opinion and preferences might be a bit different, but not a big deal. For HPDE, the cage is most likely more than enough. Just wanted to point out the rear bars to help make it as safe as possible. Good Luck!

I can see it now ...... If I built a cage out that only allowed a driver and got it all burned in then my wife would be like “I thought we could go for a ride in the Mustang” and id have to strap her to the roof or something. Lol
This car is no joke!!! very jealous and very cool owner congrats on progress
Thanks for the nice interior and all of the Info and the other MISC parts
These parts will see daylight in few weeks when weather breaks
Also Thanks for delivering in the BOMB Cyclone weather too Lol
