Thread: Front end noise

    Default Front end noise

Hey guys, I have a question about noise I hear in my convertible at times. Only after it’s warm I hear a “clunk” like sound on the passenger side while or shortly after the clutch has released. Sometimes it’s a couple seconds after the car has started to move. I know it’s hard to determine something without hearing it first hand. If you guys have experienced this or have any suggestions I’d really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Check the motor mounts, also check the nuts that hold them to the K-member. I had a similar clunk that would only occur in reverse, after chasing it for a couple weeks I found that one of the nuts had backed off about 1 thread.

Check bolts from metal bracket to motor. I had the head pop off of one believe it or not.

I finally got around to addressing this noise. You were exactly right, the passenger side motor mount bolts were only finger tight. Thank you! Problem resolved
