I'm converting my 84 GT 350 5.0, with t-5 and 7.5 in rear end to dual exhaust. I'm struggling a bit with relocating the brake lines. I want to keep the 7.5 in rear. I ordered the rear axle line for an 85 V8 with 7.5 in rear end thinking that would allow me to simply swap the lines (http://www.classictube.com/power-dis...-7-5-axle.html) using the hose and bracket below. I only ordered the rear axle hard lines not the intermediate lines. I assumed this would allow me to move the connection point to the differential. I was surprised to see that the real axle lines I ordered are exactly the same as the my current lines and would sill connect on the passenger side. I though they sent me the wrong lines but I called classic tube and they said those were correct for an 85 with a V-8 and 7.5 in rear.
I planned to use this rear differential brake hose (https://www.americanmuscle.com/rear-...hose-8795.html) and this upper brake hose bracket (https://lmr.com/item/LRS-2073BRKT/mu...-bracket-86-93) to connect the intermediate lines to the axle lines at the differential.
I was going to bend the intermediate line to the center of the car as suggested in this post (http://vb.foureyedpride.com/showthre...e-Line-Routing)
Here are my questions:
1) Are hard axle lines for an 85 GT with V8 and 7.5 in rear the same as an 84? I would have thought they were different due to 85''s having dual exhaust from the cat back.
2) Rather than use 85 lines could I order the lines from an 86 even though that would be for an 8.8 rear end rather than 7.5?
3) Can I use the brake hose and bracket above to connect to 85 or 86 hard lines.
4) Rather than bend my current intermediate line could/should I order the intermediate line from an 86? Note I do have maximum motor sports sub frame connectors welded in.
This is the last issue I need to workout to complete the conversion. Thanks in advance for the help.
