Default 1979 Mustang Clutch Pedal Spring

Was wonder if someone with more experience could help me out.
Just in the process of Converting my 1979 Coupe from V6/Auto to
5L/T5.Installed the Pedals tonight, the correct early style pedals.
Was looking threw a Ford Parts Illustration and it shows that Ford
Used a return spring on the the Lever where the Clutch Cable
Connects.Anyone have a picture or experience with this?
    Thanks

Default another try to find me part?

Being a former auto parts counter person, am always interested staying in practice finding parts.
Another part with no history or part listing easily found.
    Nothing.
Someone on FEP has to know more.

Early and late years no problem.

    https://www.google.com/search?client...TaT4sI#imgrc=_

Looks similar to early Ford clutch springs with a different bend at the cable end.
Could get an older version and bend the cable? end correctly?

Hooks to bracket on one end and over clutch cable? at the other.
Would it not bind the cable if attached directly to it?
    Hooks to pedal arm?
Some clutch mfg say to remove it.

Appears only Mustang v8 had one. Many other cars with non-cable clutch linkages did. My 2.3T no.
Ford pickups had one a little shorter or longer.

From the looks of it and what i read, it assists clutching making heavier v8 clutch pedal easier to push.
If that's the case, a hd hardware store spring could be made to work temp. Car version looks HD.

Also looks similar to accel return springs for carb linkage on older cars. Or drum brake shoe spring.
Run without it or experiment till we find one from salvage yard to measure or use.

Guess its all about clutch feel and how light or heavy a driver likes the pedal to feel like.

Newest Mustangs have one that looks like a valve spring.

My 73 to 79 parts book (1988 final version) says E0BZ 7523-A for all engines. They are calling it a "spring (clutch release lever rod retracting)"

Also fits 79 Fairmont. That's it. Likely one year only.

I'm sure you can find on original and then get some industrial suppliers to search knowing length and relative tension.

What year(s) clutch pedal assembly do I need for a 79 Zephyr when converting from an automatic trans to a manual?

Any Fox manual car 78-93 except the hydraulic clutch T'birds. Ideally, the car you got the transmission from.
94-04 can be made to fit but it requires some modification and changing to the SN95 booster; it's not worth the trouble in most cases.

on my 79 mustang original C4 car we tried installing a 79-81 pedal box and it wouldn't fit. I grabbed a 82-93 pedal box and it fit perfect. I still don't understand why though.
