    Default Small collar on pushrod?

The bottom push-rod came off a 5.0 with Edelbrock Perrofmer cylinder heads with SVO 1.60 rockers...

The top came off of an engine with cast-iron GT40 heads with Crane rockers.

Has anyone seen push-rods with collars, like the top one? Collars are stamped "UP".

They are both the exact same length and being that I can find 8 off the "collared" ones but only 7 of the other... I was planning on using the collared ones witht the Edelbrock heads and SVO 1.60 rockers.

Forgive my ignorance. This is all new ground for me and I don't want tto screw anything up.Name: image1.jpg

Use the 8 collared ones , just so everything matches .
I have edelbrock heads , and do not have those collars .
I also have guide plates, so the collar would be in the way .

I've taken apart a bunch of SBF's and never seen a collar on a pushrod like that.

When I rebuilt my 85 a couple months ago, my push-rods had the collar too. I have a 98 exploder engine that does not. I inspected the ends to make sure the oil passages were clear and the holes were not wallerd out etc. and put them back in. So far no issues.

    Okay, I give up.
    Google didn't help at all.

    What's the reason/use for a pushrod collar?
Other than saying "Gangster" on your motorcycle's exposed pushrod?

I'd say Google helped. It gave me a laugh. Amazing what might come up in a search
