    Default Lower Torque Box Reinforcements - holes don't line up

    I went to install my lower torque box reinforcements last night and the LCA bolt hole on the frame and on the reinforcements don't line up (see pics). The photos here are of the worse side, but both were off a bit. Since the top is just the thin floor pan, can I just pound upward on it until the difference is made up or is that a bad idea for some reason (that portion of floor pan may have warped a little bit from the heat I had to apply to the rusty LCA bolts)? It seems like elongating the holes on the reinforcements would defeat their purpose.

    Ran into the same issue when i installed mine a few weeks ago. I slotted the hole until it lined up with the hole, and flush with the upper ceiling of the torque box.

    Is there room for that side to move into position ?
    I would put a boot thru it to line it up then weld it in place .
    Defeated the purpose to grind the reinforcement .

    Yes, side to side has room, but in order for the LCA bolt to go through, I would have to apply A LOT of upward force and potentially bend the floorpan upward (right beside where the floor pan is welded to the frame).

    After thinking this through, I think that would add a lot of stress to that weld over time. And (like you say) it seems that just dremeling the hole bigger defeats the purpose of the reinforcement.

    I marked where the holes actually lined up on the brackets WITHOUT applying force and think I might just take the brackets to a fabricator and have them fill in/replace the holes in the right spots.

    Just bend the bracket until the holes line up .
    You can use heat to help it conform .keep it simple and safe .
