Default Bell housing the same for SROD and T5?

Seems like the bell is the same for both if memory serves. Am I correct or wrong once again?

Never mind. Searched and found my answer. So embarrassed.
Since I am going T5 looks like I will add the SROD bell to my for sale ad.

The SROD bell is what is needed to install a Tremec 3550 and possibly others. Don't sell it for peanuts!

SROD fits T3550, TKO500, TKO600.. T5 is specific, fox and SN95 are different depths on the T5 bells.

Isn't the 2.3 bellhousing different from the SBF though?

Yes. Adapter to use 5.0 bell on a 2.3: http://www.cididit.com/adaptor_plate.htm

FWIW I used an MDL adapter plate on an SROD bell with a T5 tranny from a 98 V6 mustang on my son's 80 cobra when I converted from a C4.

The extra thickness of the plate made up for the extra length of the input shaft. It does puts everything (shifter, mount) about 3/4" further back in the tunnel though so driveshaft length and/or crossmember mounting may be an issue depending. I had to trim the shifter hole and mod the boots a little bit but it all fit OK and puts the shifter in a good spot as far as I'm concerned.

In my case I already had an SROD bell and found decent junkyard V6 T5. I had to shorten the longer C4 driveshaft on the conversion regardless so it made more sense to go that way for me.

I'm not sure if this is the most economical or easiest way depending on what parts you already have etc.
