    Default Boxtop project

I've been working on my Boxtop project off and on for quite some time or whenever I can. I did a 5 lugs swap and installed flofit seats bought it for 40 bucks, still have a long way to go. Engine is next on the list. Here's a couple of pics. of what I'm working on

Nice start. Boxtops look the best.
What engine are you thinking about putting in it?

I'm leaning toward 5.0 fox body swap or stroke 408 but I do love mod motor cobra 4.6. I look me 7 months to get to this point, if someone can point to the right direction of where I can locate the interiors parts I appreciated. Here's a couple before pics.

Love it! What color are you thinking of eventually? That original blue is definitely one of the better colors from the F/Z color palate.

There's a couple of groups on FB you can try for parts. More members than you'd think too. There's a guy selling a boxtop for $500 with what looks to be a complete red interior in this group:

The dash is cracked, but plenty of usable stuff there.

ZephyrEFI, I love what you did to your ride , how difficult was it to swap to mustang dash? I have more questions coming your way about your built. The original paint is midnight blue metallic, the new paint is '17 mustang magnetic gray

Wait, did you buy the car for $40, or did you get the Flofit seats for $40?

Regardless, nice work so far. The '98 Cobra wheels are a great fit on the boxtop body style.

I went back and read the post again and it confuses me . I bought the seats for $40 and the car $800 running with I6

Nice, I love a cool grey. My '02 Mustang GT was Mineral Grey.

Ask away on the questions! The dash was made easier for me by the fact that I got a donor car, and then swapped just about everything over, the EFI engine/drivetrain, the wire harness, and the dash. I never even unplugged the harness from the dash, I just installed everything together. No hours of splicing and figuring out what wires do what. The only splicing i had to do was the exterior lights and the wipers. That was easy because the wire colors never changed! As for physical mounting of the dash, the lower mounts are the same, but the upper mounts you'll need to bend at about a 45 degree angle to be able to use those. You might end up having to drill some holes, but that's about it.
