Default Need help with nuetral safety switch

85 GT with T5...I have 2 neutral safety switches, one is a normally closed switch and the other is normally open. Which one is the correct switch for me to use? Engine is currently out but about to go back in, once its in I won't have room to install the switch. Help will be greatly appreciated!

By saying neutral safety switch, do you mean clutch switch? A neutral safety switch would be on an automatic trans. The clutch switch
's are on the pedal assembly. You will need the normally open switch for the ignition circuit. Then the harness at the trans will use a jumper wire.

The clutch switch is located on the clutch pedal, this is located on the top of the transmission. When you unscrew it from the case you can see it has a ball and when the ball is pressed it activates the switch. It may be called something other than neutral safety

You may be looking at a switch for your backup lights.
It should close when you shift into reverse.
Neutral safety switches are for automatic transmissions.
