Looked at the car and did not buy it.

At the end of the day it's a rough ole 4 cylinder coupe that the owner started to graft the old Roush race car bodywork upon. Supposedly the body was one from the "Raintree" Mustang.

Car has a set of Enkie Mesh Wheels (nice) with junk tires, Ford Motorsport Speedo Cluster sitting out of the car, 7.5 slapper bar rear-end, old crusty 302 that is probably stuck, automatic C4 transmission, steering column, 1 seat, part of a console, dash shell, a broken in 2 piece (broken in the middle) Roush race front-end, a good lower front Roush spoiler, 2 Roush Hoods, a title and the rest of the Roush body cobbled onto the "Sunroof" Coupe body that has accident damage on the right front along with hacked out rear quarter panels.

$1,000 buys it. I left it there without making an offer as I was afraid he might take it!

Reality is that that car's "Worth" is in the nice Enkei wheels, a core 302, core C4 and the Motorsport speedo cluster. That's probably $1000 RETAIL at best! The Roush body work is rough and I doubt anyone would use it therefore not much if any value. The rest is worth what it weighs at the scale.

I would think the IMSA body work would make a unique restomod. Has to carry some value, but I don't like it on the coupe body style.

Knowing Mike personally, I value his opinion. If he didn't want it for under $1000, then I would certainly steer clear of it...unless you want to pay for a set of Enkei's, a motor and trans and get a bunch of scrap with them
