What is a good alternative to the motorcraft belts that would be readily available? I need to replace the belts on my SVO, as I have already lost one & the second isn't far behind.

I'm interested too so had to look it up. I guess you do not need the AC having a Comp Prep. It looks like in Canada we had a different alt/AC belt too.
Gates had all of the hoses and belts for the 2.8 we just redid. So far so good. They are a good name from what I hear and see. Are the Motorcraft ones that hard to find these days?
JB-535-LB Part number is E1PZ-8620-D according to my parts book.
JB-390 was not in my 1991 copy of the master parts book. It doesn't show a MC number. It does give a E3AZ-8620-E
The newer the catalogs get, the worse the information gets, and usually bad information. I don't understand how they always get it screwed up as time goes by.
I have microfiche dating back to the 1960's for most cars and trucks, and the fiche I was looking at was dated 1986. So, right at the time of the last SVO Mustang was being built.
I think the E3AZ-E belt is the JB-390-LA though. Mid 1983 they changed the length. Not sure why....the compressor was the same for both years.
