    Default Brake lights

    My brake lights are not working and the bulbs are new and it has mechanical switch anyone know what would be the problem??

    Check fuses, 12v power at bulb with pedal down, ground connections.
    Lighted test light with probe and or multimeter work good for doing this.
    Check wire connectors for solid connections.
    When mine went out, was bad socket ground.
    New socket with pigtail fixed that.

    Good points to check for power to the sockets. I just had to replace a front socket due to a bad ground tang although it was an intermittent problem.

    With both of yours out, I am suspecting a ground (do your park lights come on?), a bad switch at the pedal, unplugged wire connector or damaged power wire/ground to the lights. You are sure you used the dual filament 1157 bulbs and not the single filament 1156?

    Were they working before and did you recently have anything apart?
